Here at Blessed Hope we are committed to making a difference in our community. We are on a mission to “Be the Church” to our community and to demonstrate the Love of Christ in real, tangible, no strings attached ways to people that need to know Him. We love to serve!
This summer we had the opportunity to offer a one of a kind program to
children and families in our community called CSI (Christian Summer
Institute). CSI, a 3 week program, was open to all elementary aged
children and provided a mix of academic skill development and Christian
education. It was a wonderful experience for the students and all in
all served over 75 students and had over 40 volunteers!
We had such a great time at Blessed Hope's first ever Faith in Action in-town mission trip. Many people took vacation from work or spent their days off joining us for our 3 day mission around the city of Vinton. We worked on homes in the community - doing light construction, painting, cleaning, cement work - and even did a whole home make-over. We did some work at Head Start/HACAP and completed projects for our local schools and the Park Department. On top of that, we had teams of people prayer walk the entire city - praying up and down each block...at all of our schools...and our parks. We also had our kids plugged in - moving around town and inviting people to church, visiting the sick and spending time with folks at our nursing/assisted living homes.
All in all, we had over 90 adults and kids participating.
And as if that wasn't enough - we spent time together at the church each night - having devotionals, worshiping together, sitting around the campfire, playing games - and just growing closer together as a body. It was truly a blessed time and we can't wait to do it again!

Recently, Blessed Hope had the privilege to be able to participate in Operation Christmas Child (sponsored by Samaritan's Purse).
Shoeboxes were sent to parts of the world where children typically won't receive gifts on Christmas. Sound good? IT IS...BUT THAT ISN'T ALL!
Get this...each shoebox is also an opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. As shoebox gifts are distributed, local pastors or church leaders present the Gospel in a fun way designed for kids while family and friends listen in. Along with their shoebox gift, children also receive The Greatest Gift, a colorful presentation of the Gospel in their own language.
This was a great way for us to Be the Church!
Blessed Hope just finished participating in "Vinton Feeds the World" - a joint project with other churches in the
Vinton Area to package and give away over 30,000 meals for both local
use and for those in need overseas.
Blessed Hope is privileged to be able to support—through the generous tithes and offerings of our members—various ministries and missionaries both locally and around the world.
Blessed Hope is committed to these missionaries and ministries—not only financially—but also through continued prayer. We are excited to have a part in their mission—spreading the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
