BHCC Discipleship Track 1 - FOLLOW - [MEN'S GROUP]

Sundays 11:00 am-12:30 pm - right after the worship service - Revolution Building
Leaders: Nate Stalheim & Dave Davis
**Childcare Available**

A disciple of Jesus is a follower of Jesus. We are, as Christians, disciples…which means we should be growing to be more and more like Jesus. If being a disciple is being a follower - then discipleship is the process, guided by the church, where we help disciples along their journey. Here at BHCC our Discipleship Strategy involves 4 steps. We help to grow disciples by encouraging people to FOLLOW Jesus, CONNECT with the church, GROW in faith, and LIVE with purpose. In order to help in the process, BHCC has launched 4 discipleship tracks (one for each step). We believe that each track will be helpful in orienting those who call BHCC home to a life-long journey of discipleship. Track 1 (FOLLOW) is designed to help us know more about the God that we are committed to following. This is a deep dive into the core basic doctrines of our faith.

Requirements: Your Bible, workbook will be provided

The Foundations

Sundays 11:00 am-12:30 pm - right after the worship service - BHCC basement
Leader: Kevin & Deb Hesson
**Childcare Available**

The Foundations video curriculum is designed by Ken Ham, to engage believers with the important message of the authority of Scripture, and the importance of taking God’s Word as written—beginning in Genesis. The goal is to help the church rebuild the foundation of the authority of God’s Word. Ken cuts to the heart of the foundational problems of our culture and shows how we can rebuild those crumbling foundations, beginning with ourselves, our families, and our churches, and ultimately rebuild them in our culture as God’s people effectively present the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and see hearts and minds changed by the power of the Holy Spirit. They must determine our actions. Many Christians may be against abortion, sexual deviancy, and other moral problems in society, yet they cannot give proper justification for their opposition. Most Christians have an idea of what is wrong and what is right, but they do not understand why. This lack of reasons for our position is seen by others as just “opinions.” And why should our opinion be any more valid than that of someone else? It is not a matter of opinion, yours or mine. It is what God says that matters. The basis for our thinking should be the principles of His Word.

Requirements: The Foundations participant workbook, by Ken Ham (Purchase from the Hessons - $6.99), & Your Bible

He's Where the Joy Is

Sundays 6:00-7:30 pm - Shiphrah Office (downtown Vinton)
Leaders: Bethany & Judah Gates

It's hard to know a God we don't understand, and it's hard to love a God we don't know. But our God wants to be known and loved, and He’s told us a lot about Himself in the pages of His Word. In this study, Bible teacher Tara-Leigh Cobble breaks down the intimidating doctrine of the Trinity. You'll discover a beautiful, foundational view of our Triune God that will transform how you relate to Him. Understanding God's three-in-oneness and each of the Persons of God individually—Father, Son, and Spirit—will lead you to deeper intimacy with God and greater joy in knowing Him!

Requirements:
He’s Where the Joy Is study book, by Tara-Leigh Cobble (Lifeway $15.99)
Your Bible
