our vision for adults

Through community, with truth and grace, we are growing Christians where they are, discipling them to become more Christ-like.

Core Values:

1. Bible-based - All teaching is rooted deeply in the Bible

2. Relevance - Connecting through topics that matter and are important to our lives

3. Relationships - Building community by doing life together on mission

4. Discipleship - Growing in personal obedience to become more Christ-like

5. Prayer-dependency- Seeing the value in praying together and for one another as brothers and sisters in Christ

2019 Winter semester

Welcome to our 2019 winter semester! We are so excited to see how God works through this ministry! We encourage everyone who is able, to participate in small groups. As followers of Christ, we are always growing…the sanctification process is life-long! One of the ways we pursue and live out gospel-centered community is through our small groups – this is an important part of the discipleship process!

To sign up for a group, scroll down and complete the sign-up form!

Once you have signed up, expect to receive confirmation from your leader/co-leader via email within the next week, including information about your first group meeting (directions, syllabus, etc.). There are only so many spots available per group, so we encourage you to sign up early to be sure that there is room in your preferred group.

*Important things to note: Due to the merger, this semester will be shorter, each group lasting 7 weeks, beginning the week of January 13th. Some groups may have a small cost associated with them. Use the information provided in this packet to secure any materials needed. But please do not let cost be an issue in signing up for a group. If you need financial assistance in getting your materials, you can either let your group leader know when they contact you or send an email to Pastor Matt or Malea. Please note that childcare is available for several groups! We are looking forward to another great small group semester!

Marriage is great, but it's not forever. It's until death do us part. Then come eternal rewards or regrets depending on how we spend our lives. In this RightNow Media study, Francis Chan and his wife Lisa address the question many couples wonder at the altar: How do I have a great marriage? Setting aside typical topics on marriage, Francis and Lisa dive into Scripture to understand what it means to have a relationship that satisfies the deepest parts of our souls.

In the same way Crazy Love changed the way we saw our personal relationship with God, You and Me Forever will radically shift the way we see one of the most important relationships in our life.

"You and I are not only part of God's family, not only saved and given wisdom and knowledge, not only inheritors of His kingdom and vessels of the Holy Spirit, but we are actually the praise of God's glory—a proof of God's greatness!" Ephesians challenges us to see ourselves distinctly as God's children. Because of our new status in Christ, our lives are marked and our actions should reflect that change. In this RightNow Media series, join pastor Jason Nelson as he challenges us to read these words with a fresh perspective and engage with each other as people defined by grace. This study serves to remind us that we are molded by grace into one family, the family of God.

7. The Struggle is Real **GROUP FULL**

Tuesdays @ 6:30 pm - BHC/MOPS Room

Leaders: Stacie Marzen & Barb Johnson

Life is never as easy as we want it to be. Car tires blow out. Work piles up. Kids throw tantrums. It’s a struggle. But should it be? We often believe that when we follow Jesus, life should get easier. And when it doesn’t we tell ourselves we’re failing or stuck or abandoned by God. But it’s simply not true. In this RightNow Media series, Nicole Unice explores why life’s a struggle and what to do about it. With God as the hero of the story, a hard day has new meaning. We can find joy in him instead of feeling stuck. And our lives can be defined by redemption instead of struggle.

Requirements: Your Bible, The Struggle is Real Book ($11) & The Struggle is Real Participant Guide ($8)

8. Micah

Wednesdays @ 1:00 pm - Hibbs Home

Leaders: Carolyn Hibbs & Carol Lutz

Have you ever read the book of Micah? I found this an interesting read recently and invite you to join me in examining Micah’s description of God, Jesus birth and His second coming to reign. Micah prophesied between 750 and 686 B.C. and was a contemporary of Isaiah. Micah states “But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.” (Micah 7:7)

Requirements: Your Bible

9. Galatians - [Women’s Group]

Wednesdays @ 6:00 pm - Svoboda Home **childcare provided**

Leaders: Victoria Fink & Jennifer Svoboda

If someone asked you to explain the gospel, what would you say? What is the good news of the Christian faith? Writing to the Galatians, Paul made it clear how easily we can be tempted to turn toward fraudulent gospels, especially those that teach we can earn God’s love through our works. Though they may have the appearance of truth, they are lifeless and leave us empty in the end. In this RightNow Media series, Pastor & author Kyle Idleman dives into the book of Galatians, one that contains some of the clearest explanations of the gospel in the New Testament. Through biblical study and engaging lessons, Kyle shows that true freedom is found in surrender, not self-dependence. Because our gospel is not one based on our works, but faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Requirements: Your Bible

10. 1 Peter [Men’s Group]

Wednesdays @ 8:00 pm - BHC

This world looks nothing like the promised perfect kingdom of God. And yet we as God's people must live in it every day. In this RightNow Media series, Kyle Idleman walks through the short letter and unpacks the importance of our witness in this world. The world's not as it should be. Until the day that God rights all wrongs, we have a job to do. Let's be about the business of the kingdom.

A HABIT is an addiction to someone or something – alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, sex, shopping, work, etc. An addiction is anything in your life that is not under the control of Jesus.
