Welcome to our winter semester! We are excited to get back to our regular topical format and watch God work through this ministry! We encourage everyone who is able, to participate in small groups. As followers of Christ, we are always growing…the sanctification process is life-long! One of the ways we pursue and live out gospel-centered community is through our small groups – this is an important part of the discipleship process!
To sign up for a group you have 3 easy choices:
1. Simply fill out this form and email to: Malea or Matt
2. Indicate your choice on the tear off card of your bulletin on Sunday and drop it in the offering plate.
3. Grab a small group packet at church to fill out a printed version of the above form and leave at the visitor center.
Once you have signed up, expect to receive confirmation from your leader/co-leader via email, including information about your first group meeting (directions, syllabus, etc.). There are only so many spots available per group, so we encourage you to sign up early to be sure that there is room in your preferred group.
*Important things to note: Each group will last 11-12 weeks and will begin the week of Jan. 21st. Some groups may have a small cost associated with them. Once you receive confirmation of your group – use the information provided in this packet to secure your materials. But please do not let cost be an issue in signing up for a group. If you need financial assistance in getting your materials, you can either let your group leader know when they contact you or send an email to Pastor Matt or Malea.
• Please note that childcare is available during several groups!

We are looking forward to another great small group semester!

3. Accessible Apologetics - THIS GROUP IS CLOSED
Sundays @ 6:30 pm – BHC **childcare provided**
Leaders: Shane & Stacie Marzen
Ever feel like you have to defend your faith? 1 Peter 3:15 states "...always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." Obeying this command means you have reasons for what you believe and you’re ready to talk with anyone who has questions. It doesn’t mean getting defensive. It means speaking the truth in love as we represent our Lord at work, at school, in our community and society. But in order to be prepared, we’ve got to know what we believe and why we believe it.
Requirements: Each participant will be provided with lesson packets

Evangelism doesn't have to be frustrating or intimidating. Effectively communicating our faith in Christ should be the most natural thing in the world. We just need encouragement and direction. In this study, Bill Hybels and Mark Mittelberg articulate the central principles of evangelism. Based on the words of Jesus and flowing from the firsthand experiences of the authors, we will learn a groundbreaking, personalized approach to relational evangelism and discover our own natural evangelism style, how to develop a contagious Christian character, build spiritually strategic relationships, direct conversations toward matters of faith, and share biblical truths in everyday language.

6. What’s So Amazing About Grace?
Mondays @ 6:00 pm – BHC
Leaders: Bill & Betty Thorsvig
Grace is the church’s great distinctive. It’s the one thing the world cannot duplicate, and the one thing it craves above all else--for only grace can bring hope and transformation to a jaded world. In this study, we will read Philip Yancey’s book, and explore grace at street level. If grace is God’s love for the undeserving, then what does it look like in action? And if Christians are its sole dispensers, then how are we doing at lavishing grace on a world that knows far more of cruelty and unforgiveness than it does of mercy? How can Christians contend graciously with moral issues that threaten all they hold dear? He challenges us to become living answers to a world that desperately wants to know, What’s So Amazing About Grace?
Requirements: Each participant will be provided with a book
7. The Book of Joshua
Mondays @ 6:30 pm – Lutz home
Leaders: Mike & Shelley Lutz
Joshua is a recording of the history of the Israelites entering into the promised land and a lesson about us as Christians moving into the promised land. In this study we will explore what that looks like for us, what it takes to enter in, as well as why that can be difficult and what things may keep us out.
Requirements: Just your Bible
8. The Book of Ruth (Women’s Group) - THIS GROUP IS CLOSED
Tuesdays @ 6:30 pm – BHC **childcare provided**
Leaders: Collen Finch & Melissa Smith
God can seem distant when dreams fade, people die, or careers fail. It may feel like He slammed the door in your face and walked out for good. No one knows the feeling of abandonment more than Ruth and Naomi. Their story begins with the worst—death, famine, and poverty. And God remains silent. But the book of Ruth doesn’t end with despair. The story brims with hope because God works on behalf of the two widows in ways they least expect. In this RightNow Media study, Bianca Juárez Olthoff, teaches through Ruth to show how God moves behind the scenes in our lives. Walk the journey of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz and discover the devoted love of God and His transformative power in our lives.
Requirements: Each participant will be provided with Session handouts
9. Proven (Women's Group)
Wednesdays @ 6:30 (during middle school youth group) – White home
Leaders: Jane White & Tyneal Herger
Too many of us walk through life feeling as if we don't measure up. We always seem to thirst for more. We think if we could only work harder or be better, we could be enough. But the truth is, we will never be enough. And thankfully, we don't have to be.
In this study, Jennie Allen walks through key passages in the Book of John to demonstrate how only Jesus is enough. We don't have to prove anything because Jesus has already proven everything. Discover how our thirsty hearts can only be quenched by the Living Water.
Requirements: Each participant will need to purchase a workbook ($13):
10. The Book of Titus (Men’s Group)
Thursdays @ 8:00 pm – BHC
Leaders: Aric Chvala & Tracy Davis
In this RightNow Media study, Chip Ingram unpacks the book of Titus. He challenges us to display the gospel in our lives through doing good. We do good works not to earn God’s favor, but as a result of God’s favor. When the gospel has truly taken root in our lives, it produces the fruit of godliness. As we pass these things on to future generations, the Church stands in bright contrast to the darkness of the world.
Requirements: Each participant will be provided with Session handouts
